Atheists why do some of you claim that atheists are more intelligent than theists?

Atheists claim they are more intelligent because atheism draws a very arrogant crowd. On the other hand, humanity has never been as advanced as it is today, and we have never had explanations to natural phenomena, which left us scratching our heads and jumping to conclusions, until now. Biology, physics, and science in general, supports atheism. The scientific method has proven to be practically infallible, unlike other non-scientific methods, which are constantly being debunked. Science is a much more trustworthy method to explain reality, and has an excellent track record. Therefore, it seems more likely for science to have better answers to our questions, and not ancient religions.
